HistoryGround up applications development with background in medical systems, accounting systems, royalty systems, shipping, retail, manufacturing and distribution systems. Flexible Web services was established in 1998 to provide internet services in the newly expanding DSL market. The initial intent was to deploy dialup services in the local southern California area and provide installation and closer tech support services than was being provided by other services such as AOL, Prodigy, Earthlink, etc. We quickly discovered that dialup services were disappearing though we did have several customers who used dialup. DSL had just come of age and had the 3 major independent companies pushing it, COVAD, Rhythms and Northpoint. All 3 failed either completely or became part of the bigger incumbent company that forced them out of business. This adventure opened the door to greater understanding of different telco protocols and with Verizon taking over GTE in Long Beach, the DSL opportunities for small deployment companies like Flexible Web Services also got swallowed up. Prior to the deployment of DSL or internet services, our background centered around the medical industry. We were responsible for the computer network for over 100 works stations in 3 separate buildings. Integrating the hospital mini-computer and main-frame data into PC applications as well as creating software from the ground up to support an Insurance sales team.
